london

london was amazing, as you can see from the pictures below. it is a beautiful and easy city to get around. i was also very impressed by the quality of the food. every restaurant was a delightful discovery. eric and i even tasted fresh oysters for the first time! i must admit they were delicious -- not what i was expecting at all.

well after all that wining and dining, it might not surprise you that my body and mind went into overload. after london we headed for bath, a welcoming city in the southwest of england that is known for its spa resort. we had planned our whole trip to bath around -- a restaurant -- yes, that's how much we love food. we are fans of the food show river cottage, and it turns out the host had a restaurant in bath which we could visit on our way back to the ferry. we booked reservations ahead of time and had been anticipating our meal for some time. unfortunately, i was so out of it, i couldn't enjoy it, nor any of the culinary delights that followed during our trip to bath.

i have been recuperating ever since, laying low and enjoying the comforting rhythms of ordinary routine. it is a great gift to be able to travel and visit new places; it is an even greater gift to embrace the wonders of every day life.

i hope your day is filled with wonder and amazement for the little things.
