No, I'm not dreaming of a white Christmas,
although last year there was snow. I'm thinking about something bigger than a field trip: a real vacation!
Indeed, we are planning a week long road trip to
England and Scotland. We would have to take a ferry to cross the Irish Sea, just like the Vikings did a long time ago. The ferries are really big, much bigger than the one to Wolfe Island.
Once in Wales,
we would drive to Oxford,
London,
Cambridge, to study of course!
Then, north to Alnwick Castle for Harry Potter fans
in the family.
Cross the Hadrian Wall, built by the Romans 2000 years ago, to reach Edinburg, swing by Glasgow.
Finally, take the ferry to Belfast and head back home.
Squeezing a visit to the Loch Ness seems to add too much driving. To see what? A monster! Sorry Nessie.
Also, we are looking at airplane fares.
We found a two-way ticket to
Paris for 50 Euros! 70$ for the whole family. Renting an apartment for a week at 500 Euros.
We could go anywhere in Europe for dirt cheap. The kids have always wanted to climb up the Eiffel Tower.
What do you think? Any suggestions? Where should we go? What not to miss?
