The National Aquatic Centre

Yesterday, the weather forecast was calling for rain, again. Are you surprised? We're not anymore. We've gotten used to the most sunny days being interrupted by rainshowers. We jumped in our bathing suits and headed to the National Aquatic Centre. First, we filled our bellies with chocolate muffins, then went exploring the premises. There was a Pirate Ship, with all kinds of sprays and slides for the little ones, a giant wave pool and a long lazy river. Another exciting feature was the Flow Rider: a powerful water stream on which you could try to ride a bodyboard.

The most fun were the three waterslides, flumes as they call them here. Each of them had a nickname: the Black Hole, the Green Giant and the Master Blaster. We had so much fun there no one wanted to leave. Purple lips eventually appeared. It was time to go. It was now three in the afternoon. The neighbor told us there is another one of those waterparks not too far that is even bigger. We'll find out soon enough as rain is part of most days.

  1. Did you know a similar kind of pool is going to be built at Memorial Centre? It is scheduled to be opened for our return in Kingston. We'll meet you there...
