Halloween Day

Rachel's colleague noted:

"... Irish Halloween... It's a curious case of an old Irish custom being exported by emigrants to America and then reimported to Ireland complete with pumpkins and other very non-native add ons, particularly the relentless commercialization."

Because the clocks went backwards to what is called 'Winter Time', we decided to let the kids watch 'X-Factor', a live
singing competition on the telly. In order to counter this time shift, they stayed up much later than usual. Unfortunately, they didn't sleep in much later the next morning...

Sunday, was a very long day, waiting to dress up, waiting to trick or treat, waiting for the candy...

We kept ourselves busy though. We made Jack-O'-lanterns, again. The ones from last week were all rotted...

We painted scary pictures and we watched Halloween classic movies, such as 'Hocus Pocus', 'It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown', 'Disney's Halloween Treat'...

After a quick dinner, we finally got ready. We got all dressed up and had our faces painted.
We were now: Hermione Granger, sorcerer extraordinaire, a nameless Jedi Master from a galaxy far away and Bram Stoker's Count Dracula, the infamous vampire. Also strait from the closet: his and hers, skeleton.
