rock n' roll

i'm told that november is the coldest month in ireland. we've experienced rain, rain and more rain. the dampness cuts right through. we regularly wear three-four sweaters. we also bought ourselves really warm slippers for the house. what is incredible is the wind. it is so strong that it wakes us up at night -- doors slamming outside, leaves rustling. it feels like a hurricane out there. last night, eric and i were up at 3 am. eric had to go outside in pyjamas twice to make sure the backyard door was secured because it wouldn't stop slamming. later, colin woke up as well from all the turmoil outside.

they say december is usually crisp and sunny. i can't wait. i will definitely have a newfound appreciation for canadian weather when we get home.
