White Christmas

School's out. The kids are building a snow fort, like the one in "La guerre des tuques". For some reason, we're running low on carrots. Yes, I can almost hear Audrey laughing from here... It is snowing again today. No, it's not green. Snowfalls, this early in the year, were unseen since 1987.

Back then, Ronald Reagan was president of the United States, the Channel Tunnel was initiated December 1st of that year and Microsoft released Windows 2.0. Madonna was at the top of the charts with George Michael and Men Without Hats.

The Montreal Canadiens had won the Stanley Cup the previous year. Mats Naslund, Stephane Richer and Patrick Roy were the stars at the Forum. Meanwhile the Leafs were already 20 years removed from their last championship with players like Borje Salming, Peter Ihnacak and Dan Daoust in their lineup...

Since then, who could have guessed that Wayne Gretzky would soon be traded? That Montreal, in 93, would win only one other cup? And that the Leafs would still be at the bottom of the standings 25 years later?
