i am going on a writer's retreat today! i love these. it is my second one since i've been at trinity. writing retreats are very popular in australia. there are actually lots of academic articles on the value of writing retreats for faculty. according to the theory, these retreats should take place off campus. we will be in a cute little hotel next to st. stephen's green.
i actually got a copy of some of this material from the organizers. my plan is to try and implement something similar in kingston when i return. i've enjoyed the opportunity and the focused time.
