wild card

one of the difficulties of homeschooling is dealing with idle hands -- particularly when dealing with two boys. they can easily get into mischief and before anyone realizes what happened, the damage is done. yesterday, someone that will remain nameless decided that the house was warm enough and so he turned off the water supply to the hot water radiators and played with some switches.

when eric and i woke up this morning we were freezing and we couldn't get the heat to come back on. after a bit of tinkering, we finally figured out the problem. let me tell you that it takes quite some time to bring a whole house to a proper level of warmth. we decided to make the best of it with a pow wow and some reading, tucked comfortably under the covers.
