In England - to a lesser degree in Ireland - you are always on CCTV: on the tube, at the park, in stores, on the street... Although you can never find the channel on the telly, there are cameras everywhere...
Signs tell you that the area is surveyed for your safety. Would you feel safer? For my part, bobbies are best.
