time off

it is one of those days... a day when i want to stay in my pyjamas, watch movies, and enjoy a bowl of warm soup. i've been fighting off a cold for the past couple of days and i have much to do before i leave for canada on friday, but i have decided to give in and surrender to the comfort that comes with taking a sick day.

yesterday, we visited the guiness storehouse. eric and rob enjoyed learning about one of their favorite beverages: guiness. our kids can now recite all of the guiness commercials and are avid fans of the toucan. they are definitely getting an alternative education on this sabbatical!

one of the perks of being a visiting professor at trinity is that i was able to take the family on a tour of the trinity campus. we walked the beautiful grounds and then went to visit the impressive trinity library that houses the book of kells. the kids and i headed back home while the big boys continued to explore the ins and outs of temple bar. so much to see, so little time! they made it an early night so that they could head off to belfast bright and early today. tomorrow, i will add pictures to the posts. unfortunately, they left with the camera before i could upload any pictures...
