Mardi Gras with maple syrup

Shrove Tuesday is also known as "Pancake Day". It marks the beginning of Lent, leading to Easter. This morning, although we are not in synch with you, we had pancakes for breakfast. Actually, we had thin crèpes: a recipe passed on from a French exchange student to Rachel's mum.

For many successive years, the kids have been having pancakes on this day at ADNS. Last Pancake Day, I was even serving them as I was a pre-school teacher there. This time, it is a much different setting...

In the next few weeks, you'll be going to Little Cat or à la cabane à sucre, one of my most favorite activities of the year, linked to the much anticipated arrival of Spring. Nothing like that here in Ireland, instead we will celebrate St.Patrick's Day.

Tomorrow will mark the first day of Lent, leading to Easter. Easter will pretty much coincide with our return to Canada: 50 days and counting! See you soon, very soon.
