for my birthday, my dad sent me the latest ipod. it is the best gadget i've ever had. it takes pictures and videos -- look at the quality of the pictures on the left. my dad also uploaded a special application that turns the ipod into a telephone. he synched it up with the VoiceIP telephone we have in the house. this phone is a montreal phone number so i can call canada at a very low cost. amazing what technology can do.
anyhow, with this ipod, i can call eric at home using the same phone number. we didn't bother getting a land phone when we moved to ireland because they are so expensive. this will work perfectly. all i need is an internet connection. as you know, most universities have wi-fi access. i'll also be able to call from any hotel -- they also tend to have wi-fi access. i'm psyched.
the new ipod also has a new feature which is called facetime, and i can video chat with anyone who has the new ipod or this feature on their iphone. i tried it with my parents and it was so good to see their face. i hadn't seen them in months. so if any of you out there have facetime, let us know!
